Mama, let those “interrupted” moments create memories

I slipped quietly into my room, coffee in hand, knowing that I needed to pause, breathe, take some space, open my Bible and start my day on the right foot.

A wee patch of time passed before our youngest poked her head in. Setting aside the book I was reading, I shuffled over and made space for her to nestle by my side.

We sat for a bit, snuggling, and just being. Admiring the view from the window, thankful for the beauty extending before our eyes, and for the ability to simply sit and enjoy it together for a moment.

The minutes disappeared and the day ticked on, but later when I returned to my room, this is what I saw. The evidence of a moment “interrupted.” A moment that did, in fact, turn out to be exactly what it needed to be.

Grateful for those moments. I mean, let’s be honest: they can be easier to appreciate some days than others. But oh what a joy it is to know that we have the privilege of time with our children!

May you know and experience the preciousness of the moments scattered amongst your days. Those ordinary days that are tinged with a hint of wonderful, simply because you took the time to savour the here and now.

It’s easier said than done, I know. But let’s keep working on that, together.

Stay awesome,

Kristy x
