Using music in your home

Do you use music to create atmosphere in your home?

I’ve discovered that by opening my kids’ bedroom doors just a little and letting music drift down our hallway first thing, they wake and get up of their own accord with more of a bounce in their step.

Now that may not work without fail, but it brings hope!

And if we’re having a bad day (we all have those, right?) it’s amazing how cranking up some music can shift our space. If we snap out of it for long enough to remember to turn it on, that is!

My kids also learn instruments. And insist on practicing all together, all at once… which can be a rather hilarious cacophony of sound when they’re all playing different songs…!

Being aware of the atmosphere that we’re encouraging in our homes can be a helpful tool in making our homes, our havens.

What about you? How does music factor into your day? Does it, at all?
