About homeschool subjects…

When you’re homeschooling, the world is your oyster as far as homeschool subjects is concerned! The idea of dividing learning up into separate areas is helpful at times, but it’s important to remember that this doesn’t mean that you need to do all the things, every single day. Life doesn’t have to be segmented for learning to occur.

Homeschooling doesn’t have to look like school! It’s up to you to find a rhythm that is unique to you and your family. With that in mind, you’ll find SO much more than programmes and academics in this section. You’ll find help for approaching your homeschooling in any subject, with a Homeschool Headspace.

About homeschool curriculum…

Homeschool curriculum looks different for every family, and there are so many options to choose from! What suits you best will largely depend on your approach or style. You don’t have to have a formal or purchased curriculum, but these can be helpful if you’d like a more structured approach.

Your homeschool days may be filled with a mixture of formal curriculum, resources that you keep in your home, activities that you attend, hobbies that you cultivate and even the shared housework that helps to keep your the house running. And the reality is that ALL of those things are learning! Because learning never stops.

It may come as a surprise to you, but I choose not to recommend curriculum with broad sweeps. I prefer to offer suggestions in a more personalised way for you. That means that you’ll find my specific curriculum recommendations in two ways:

  1. By enrolling in my homeschool course, due to be released soon! One of the five self-paced sessions inside is dedicated to curriculum, and includes what I call my “Curriculum Deluge.” Yup, that’s exactly what it sounds like! An extensive list of highly recommended curriculums, organised according to subject and type. My course will equip you to navigate that list and help you figure out what will suit your family. Grab your sneak peek at what’s inside the course, here: Homeschooling: what you really need to know.
  2. By booking a 1-1 coaching session with me. I would love to offer you specific curriculum choices and ideas that suit you personally. Or, I’d rather have the time to sit down and chat it through with you so that you are equipped to use it in a way that serves you. I’d much rather get to know you first, and make recommendations that reflect what you really want. Check out how I can help you in my coaching section if that’s something you’d appreciate support with.

At the bottom of this page, you’ll find an assorted range of blogposts with all sorts of tips and tricks that you can apply to any curriculum you use, and whatever shape learning takes in your home.

About subjects AND curriculum…

Whether you use formal curriculum (or not) and what you choose is something that will be unique to your family, your interests and your personality. The same can be said for subjects. Your kids – and your family – don’t have to do every single subject under the sun. But you’re the one who gets to choose the the shape of your children’s education. It’s a wonderful thing!

Browse the blogposts below to find tips and ideas as they relate to both subjects and curriculum. Remember to respond with your own tricks and thoughts if you’ve found something that works especially well for you! You never know how much your suggestion might help someone else. After all, we’re better together!
