We ask a lot of ourselves as homeschooling parents, don’t we?
It’s not enough that we’re taking on the responsibility of educating our children, we want our housework to be done, meals to be made, questions to be answered, needs to be met, attitudes to be tamed… and to somehow be able to cheerfully do it all.
But we actually can’t.
Even if our kids treat us some days like we’re superhuman – we’re not!
And you know what? That’s ok.
So this is a reminder to you, to slow down. To take a breath. To remember you’re actually doing waaaay better than you probably give yourself credit for.
Case in point: here’s a small portion of my laundry mountain, after the kids folded (most of it) last week. Amazingly, it’s actually not looking too bad compared to some days or weeks. (Now, I’m sure you’re with me in being grateful that we have clothes to wear, but phew).
And the cycle continues.
Here’s the thing: some days it might get done, some it might not. But every day what you’re doing, matters. All of it!
And it’s ok if that doesn’t “look” like laundry, tamed!
Keep being awesome. And feel free to describe your current laundry mountain for us, if you’re game!
